Hillsboro police

Hazel Marie Hoffner, 69, 126 N. Freeborn St., Marion and Callie Joann Penner, 26, 1032 U.S. 56, Hillsboro, collided at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 26 in the south parking lot of the sports complex. While Hoffner was traveling east bound in her 2007 Chevrolet, Penner was backing her 2014 GMC pickup out of a parking spot and struck the right side of Hoffner’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.

140th Rd. west of Holly Rd.

Larinda Lea Amstutz, 22, 112 S. Buller St., Goessel, lost control of her 2000 Pontiac sedan and crashed into the ditch at 3 p.m. Oct. 23. Amstutz suffered a non-incapacitating injury and was taken by Lifeteam to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

190th Rd. east of Pawnee Rd.

Sonja K. Hefley, 47, 1753 Nighthawk Rd., Marion, drove off the road and struck a mailbox and tree when her dog jumped into her lap while she was driving her 2007 Chevrolet sedan at 5:05 p.m. Oct. 24. No injuries were reported. The vehicle had to be towed.

Animal strikes

Lon K. Floyd, 68, 2314 N Pepper Ridge, Wichita, struck a deer with his 1994 Lincoln sedan at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 on U.S. 77 north of U.S. 50. The vehicle had to be towed.

Edsel Eugene Kern, 88, 5004 Theden St., Shawnee, struck and killed a deer with a 2013 Lincoln sedan owned by the Kern Family Trust, same address, at 6:55 a.m. Oct. 26 on U.S. 50 east of Union Rd.

Alisha D. Weiser, 39, 1133 Diamond Rd., Newton, struck a cow with her 2008 Dodge van at 10:15 a.m. Oct. 29 on 120th Rd. east of Goldenrod Rd.
