These accident reports were released this week:

Hillsboro Police

Beverly Vogel, 51, 212 S. Kennedy St., Hillsboro; and James Davidson, 23, 1806 Goldenrod road, Hillsboro; backed into each other on Washington Street at 4 p.m. July 25. Vogel was driving her 2005 Ford sedan, and Davidson was driving his 2011 Nissan pickup. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles had minor damage.

Marc Schroeder, 34, 102 W. 2nd St., Hillsboro; backed into an parked van owned by Lori Thurston at 7:10 p.m. July 24. No injuries were reported. Thurston’s van had minor damage.

Sheriff’s department

U.S. 50 east of Pawnee Road

Wheels on a semi-trailer owned by Boyd Brothers Transportation of Cincinnati, Ohio, caught fire after its brakes apparently locked up at 1:20 p.m. July 27. Driver Marvin Acosta-Morales, 33, of Mishawaka, Ind., was able to stop the rig so the fire could be extinguished.

Nighthawk Road south of 190th Road

As reported on Page 1 last week, Kevin Steele, 44, of Marion had to roll down a window to escape his 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix at 5:10 a.m. July 30 after it hydroplaned into a sign, careened into a flood-swollen ditch, submerged, and was dragged by currents into a culvert. No injuries were reported.
