The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reported these traffic accidents:
U.S.-56/77 north of 370th Road
A deer ran into the path of a northbound 2001 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Mitchell J. Benton, 45, of 535 Tamerisk St., Junction City, at 8:15 p.m. May 17. The deer died. No injuries were reported to Benton or his passengers, Kathleen, 38; Joshua, 13; and Jared Benton, 8, all of the same address.
Sunflower Road south of 170th Road
A deer ran into the path of a southbound 2007 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Cort D. Mosiman, 18, of 15398 N.W. 30th St., Benton, at 9 p.m. May 22. The deer died. No injuries were reported to Mosiman or his passengers, Bret, 50; Julie, 49; Ellen, 16; and Addie Mosiman, 13, all of the same address.
U.S.-77 south of 170th Road
A deer ran into the path of a southbound 2006 Toyota pickup driven by Kenneth Baldwin, 39, of 410 S. Freeborn, Marion, at 5:55 a.m. May 25. The deer died. Baldwin was not injured.
U.S.-56 and Falcon Road
A 2001 Freightliner semi and a John Deere 4455 tractor collided at 5:36 p.m. Sunday. David Roland Tollett, 49, Emporia, was westbound in the semi when he started to pass the tractor, driven by Jason Robert Richmond, 19, of Marion, who was turning left onto Falcon Road, according to a Highway Patrol accident report. Both drivers were treated at Hillsboro Community Hospital, Hillsboro.
