The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Weldon Street near South Lincoln, Marion:

Chassidy L. Carlson, 16, 430 S. Freeborn, Marion, was attempting to turn around on Weldon Street near South Lincoln, Marion, in a 1996 GMC Jimmy at 3:25 p.m. March 24, when a 1986 Ford pickup, driven by Jayme R. Linder, 17, 1719 140th, Marion, pulled beside the GMC and was struck. Korey J. Linder, 15, of the same address as the driver, was a passenger in the pickup. Macy J. Hess, 16, 1719 S. Lincoln, Marion, was a passenger in the GMC. Marion Police Officer Clinton Jeffrey reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

190th Road near Pawnee Road:

Vicki K. Williams, 37, 210 N. Cedar, Marion, was eastbound on 190th Road near Pawnee Road in a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe at 1:05 p.m. March 26, when she lost control on the icy roadway slid into a south ditch, striking a utility pole with the front bumper. Marion County Sheriff Robert Craft reported no injuries and less than$1,000 in damages.

300 block of South Cedar Street, Hillsboro:

Duane Doug Faul, 43, 308 S. Cedar, Hillsboro, was backing from a private drive in the 300 block of South Cedar Street near B Street, Hillsboro, in a 2005 Ford pickup at 2:50 p.m. March 26, when the driver struck a 1996 Cadillac DeVille, driven by Donette Paula Wiebe, 27, 309 S. Cedar, Hillsboro. The Cadillac had stopped in the street behind the pickup at the time of the accident. The pickup was registered to Todd Arnold, 301 S. Cedar, Hillsboro. Assistant Hillsboro Police Chief Jessey Hiebert reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

K-15 near 90th Road:

Jeremy S. Smith, 23, Wichita, was northbound on K-15 near 90th Road in a 2006 Ford pickup at 2:15 p.m. March 27, when he lost control due to high winds and ice on the roadway. The vehicle went in to an east ditch and overturned onto the right side. The pickup was registered to Cintas Corp, Wichita. Randall S. Ross, 40, Wichita, was a passenger in the pickup. Marion County Sheriff Deputies Larry Starkey and Jim Philpott reported the driver and passenger had possible injuries and were taken to Newton Medical Center by Hesston ambulance.

400 block of Santa Fe Street near Fourth, Marion:

Tyson S. Heidebrecht, 22, 227 N. Coble, Marion, was eastbound on Santa Fe Street near Fourth, Marion, in a 1998 Ford pickup at 1:38 p.m. March 28, when he lost control of his vehicle due to poor road conditions, striking a legally parked 1994 Chevrolet pickup, owned by John Smith, 410 E. Santa Fe, Marion. Officer Jeffrey reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-56 at U.S.-77/K-150:

Randy A. Pifer, 55, Fayetteville, Ark., was stopped at a stop sign on U.S.-56 at U.S.-77/K-150 intersection in a 2006 Freightliner truck at 2:50 p.m. March 31, when Mickey L. Fischer, 55, Auberndale, Wis., stopped behind him in a 2007 Freighlinter truck and then started forward and struck Pifer’s truck in the rear. Marion County Undersheriff David Huntley reported Fischer was taken by Marion EMS to St. Luke Hospital with possible injuries. The trucks were registered to Ryder Truck Rentals, Little Rock, Ark., and Crete Carrier Corp., Lincoln, Neb. respectively.

South Roosevelt Street near Maple, Marion:

Kimberly A. Teesdale, 38, 422 S. Roosevelt, Marion, was backing westbound from the driveway at her residence onto Roosevelt Street in a 1992 Buick Regal at noon April 1, when Feebie E. Holdeman, 65, 425 S. Roosevelt, Marion, was backing from her driveway eastbound onto Roosevelt Street in a 2007 Cadillac Escalade, and the two vehicles collided. The Buick was registered to Virginia K. Steele, 423 N. Roosevelt, Marion. Alan L. Steele, 44, 1850 Remington, Marion, was a passenger in the Buick. Marion Police Officer Tyler Mermis reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-77 near 250th Road:

Rose A. Vinduska, 65, 416 N. Roosevelt, Marion, was southbound on U.S.-77 near 250th Road in a 2004 Toyota passenger car at 8:30 p.m. April 2, when two deer came from a west ditch and one was struck. Deputy Starkey reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

F Street, Ramona:

Brandon L. Klenda, 23, 1677 300th, Lincolnville, was southbound on F Street in a 1997 Ford pickup at 8:30 a.m. April 2, and did not see a train coming from the east, causing the train to strike the bed of the truck. The truck was registered to Steve Klenda, of the same address as the driver. Occupants of the Union Pacific train were Robert Gatton, 37, Council Grove, Mark King, 44, 315 S. Wilson, Hillsboro, and Garland Rurcer, 64, Herington. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Travis Wilson reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
