The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
K-15 near 100th Road
A 2006 Ford Focus, driven by Joni Dee Pankratz, 47, 603 W. Grand Ave., Hillsboro, struck the rear of a 1999 Ford Taurus, driven by Russell M. Simons, 48, Riley, at 3:38 p.m. June 25 on K-15 near 100th Road, when the Taurus slowed down for a vehicle that turned into a field entrance. The driver of the Focus reportedly did not notice that the Taurus was slowing down.
Simons was transported by ambulance to Newton Medical Center. Pankratz had possible injuries but was not transported by ambulance.
290th Road near Remington
A deer was struck at 11 p.m. June 25 by a 2007 Pontiac G6 passenger car, driven by Jessica Lynn Deines, 21, 3454 Timber Road, Ramona, on 290th Road near Remington.
The driver was not injured.
Quail Creek Road near 340th
Joyce E. Buckland-Rohloff, 57, 207 N. Berry St., Lost Springs, was northbound on Quail Creek Road near 340th in a 1998 Mazda pickup at 5:25 p.m. July 1, when the vehicle hit a pothole, causing the driver to lose control. The pickup skidded sideways into a west ditch, flipped end over end, coming to rest on the driver’s side facing north.
The driver was injured and transported to Herington Municipal Hospital.
