Marion County Sheriff’s Office investigated these accidents:
700 block of Western Heights Circle, Hillsboro
A boom on a grain trailer being pulled behind a 1989 Chevrolet pickup driven by Karalee D. Wiebe, 40, of 3173 Bison Rd., Durham, struck the roof of a building. The incident occurred at 1:55 p.m. Friday. Tony Wiebe, 10, same address, was a passenger.
600 block of Western Heights Circle, Hillsboro
A 1999 Chevrolet passenger car backed into a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer in a parking lot at 3:55 p.m. Friday, assistant police chief Jessey Hiebert reported.
Joyce A. Paquette, 59, of Wichita, was reportedly backing from a parking space when her vehicle struck the Blazer, driven by Dawn L. Jantz, 34, of 406 S. Wilson, Hillsboro.
Vista Road north of 80th Road
A pickup truck struck pedestrian Louis Litton, 56, of 211 Pine St., Peabody, at 3:10 a.m. June 15 while Litton lying in the roadway, Deputy Matt Vogt reported.
Litton was transported by private vehicle to St. Luke Hospital, Marion.
Bryan T. Grosse, 28, of 808 Olive St., Peabody, drove the truck, a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado. Jim Bailey, 58, of 553 Walnut St., Peabody, was a passenger.
U.S. 50 and Mustang Road
Honor M. Cotton, 29, of 1001 Myrtle St., Newton, ran her 1999 Ford Mustang into a ditch and through a chain-link fence at 2:15 p.m. June 18.
She told Sheriff Rob Craft she briefly blacked out while coughing as she was driving west on U.S. 50. Peabody ambulance transported her to Newton Medical Center.
The fence belongs to Dale Crabtree, 1392 Highway 50, Peabody.
U.S. 50 at mile marker 298
George L. Woodson, 39, of 10 W. Penn St., North Liberty, Iowa, struck a deer with a 2003 Kenworth truck at 12:15 a.m. June 20.
Damage to the truck, owned by Rick Fenton, 21057 183rd Ave., Centerville, Iowa, was estimated at more than $1,000.
Shannon Gentz, age unknown, and Courtney Ammerman, 6, both of Woodson’s address, were passengers. No injuries were reported.
K-15 north of mile marker 125
Billie Jean Barker, 73, of 109 S. Hess St., Hesston, struck and injured a deer with her 2006 Pontiac Vibe at 9:20 p.m. June 21.
Damage was estimated at more than $1,000. Barker was not injured.
190th Road east of Kanza Road
Jennifer L. Unruh, 37, of 518 N. Cedar St., Marion, struck and killed a deer with her 1991 GMC pickup at 9:45 p.m. June 21.
Damage was estimated at more than $1,000. Neither the driver nor her passenger, Savana Unruh, 10, was injured.
Upland Road north of 310th Road
Brandon S. Melcher, 17, of 310 S. D St., Herington, overcorrected his steering as he slowed to stop, causing his load to shift, tipping over the 1968 Chevrolet truck he was driving at 7:30 p.m. June 22.
Damage to the truck, which belongs to Kenny Shields, 2828 300th Road, Lincolnville, was estimated at more than $1,000. No injuries were reported.
330th Road west of Goldenrod Road
A 2004 Honda Accord driven by Charleen J. Wedel, 30, of 3414 Bison Road, Durham, struck and injured a deer at 8 p.m. June 23.
Neither the driver nor her passengers, Teona, 2, and Caden Wedel, 5, were injured. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
