These accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

900 block of 190th Road

The driver of a 2000 GMC pickup overturned his vehicle in a ditch after he tried to avoid hitting a deer. Larry L. Rowley, 68, Valley Center, was westbound in the 900 block of 190th Road at 9:05 p.m. April 21, when a deer ran on the road. The driver was transported to Hillsboro Community Hospital for observation.

Santa Fe Road and 290th, Durham

Tommy L. Harmon, 49, 1007 Santa Fe Road, Durham, was attempting to turn left into the drive at his residence at 9 a.m. April 24 in a 1989 Buick passenger car, when Kyle Bradlee Isaac, 16, 1087 190th Road, Hillsboro, driving a 1994 Ford pickup, started to pass the car on the driver’s side. The car struck the side of the pickup, sending it into a ditch and a utility pole. The pickup was registered to Irvin F. Isaac, 2966 Goldenrod Road, Durham.

U.S. 56 near 250th Road

A deer was struck and killed at 9:15 a.m. April 28, when a 2000 Freightliner truck, driven by Eulogio Riojas Castillo, 56, Levelland, Texas, was southbound on U.S. 56 near 250th Road and the deer entered the road. Thea Collins, no age listed on the sheriff’s report, of the same address as the driver, was a passenger.

300 block of North Lincoln St., Marion

Reginald S. Bitner, 49, 331 N. Lincoln St., Marion, was backing west from his yard at 10:24 a.m. April 28 and struck a gas meter. The meter was owned by Atmos Energy of Herington.
