600 block of East C Street, Hillsboro
A hit-and-run collision occurred at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 11, when a vehicle made a left turn from Adams Street onto C Street, Hillsboro, and slid into a parked 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, registered to Keith Redding of Hesston. A witness saw the accident occur and the driver of a Dodge pickup left the scene without reporting it.
1500 block K-15 near 160th Road
Salvatore Gallo, 74, Clay Center, was driving a 2011 Ford F-350 north on K-15 at 9:53 p.m. Feb. 14, when a deer came in to the path of the vehicle and was struck. The vehicle is registered to Green Team in Clay Center.
100 block of South Jefferson Street, Hillsboro
An 11-year-old boy, Thomas Wayne Larabee Jr., 213 N. Main St., Hillsboro, was riding a bicycle across in the 100 block of South Jefferson Street, Hillsboro, at 7:54 a.m. Feb. 22, when he rode around a 2007 Ford Mustang, driven by Rebecca Sue Hanna, 40, 305 S. Main St., Hillsboro, that was stopped blocking a crosswalk intending to turn left onto Grand Avenue within a school zone. The driver did not see the bicyclist and drove about a foot when she struck the bicycle. The bicyclist was transported by Hillsboro ambulance to Hillsboro Community Hospital.
Intersection of Grand Avenue and Washington Street, Hillsboro
A 2008 Ford Taurus, driven by Ronald R. Herbel, 69, 403 S. Floral St., Hillsboro, was northbound on Washington Street approaching Grand Avenue, Hillsboro, at 8:20 a.m. Feb. 22, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and struck the left rear of a 2005 Ford Escape, driven by Adrianna B. Bechtold, 29, 308 E. A Street, Hillsboro. Colt W. Bechtold, 1, of the same address as the driver, was a passenger in the Escape. The Taurus was registered to Hillsboro Ford, 202 S. Main St., Hillsboro.
Sunflower Road near 90th
Gary D. Lewis, 57, 50 Lakeshore Dr., Marion, was driving south on Sunflower Road at 5:38 a.m. Feb. 25 in a 1995 Chrysler passenger vehicle, when he lost control of the vehicle on the ice-covered road and slid into an east ditch striking a road sign.

Michael Edward Kirkpatrick, 17, 1426 Sunflower Road, Marion, was driving south on Sunflower Road at 11:19 a.m. Feb. 25 in a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, when he lost control of the vehicle on the ice-covered road and entered in to a west ditch. The vehicle is registered to Matthew Ryan Kirkpatrick of the same address as driver.
150th Road near Holly
Brenda C. Byrd, 66, 1551 Falcon Road, Peabody, was traveling east in a 2008 Chrysler passenger vehicle at 6:20 a.m. March 3, when a deer entered in to the path of the vehicle and was struck and killed.
Goldenrod Road near U.S. 56
Robin Tracy Blazek, 40, 804 W. Grand Ave., Hillsboro, was driving a 2007 Pontiac passenger vehicle north on Goldenrod Road at 1:25 p.m. March 3, when she lost control of the vehicle at in entered a curve in the road. The vehicle went across the road and entered in to a west ditch. Blazek was transported by Hillsboro ambulance to Hillsboro Community Hospital with possible injuries.
