These accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

U.S. 56 near North Cedar Street, Marion

Three accidents occurred simultaneously at 6 p.m. Dec. 23 on an ice-covered bridge near Marion.

William Kline, 64, Council Grove, was eastbound in a 2001 Dodge, when the vehicle slid out of control and rolled down the side of the bridge.

Two vehicles collided when a 2008 Peterbilt truck, driven by Steven L. Jury, 49, 101 S. Ash St., Hillsboro, was westbound and slid on the bridge. The driver was unable to move the truck off the bridge before a westbound 2006 Mazda passenger car, driven by Brandon Schroeter, 27, Herington, slid into the truck.

Cynthia L. Palmer, 49, Blue Springs, Mo., was westbound when she lost control of her 2005 Chrysler Sebring, striking the bridge rail.

U.S. 77 near 140th Road

Megan Deanna Hudson, 22, 1 Office Drive, Marion, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet passenger car south on U.S. 77 at 6 p.m. Dec. 23, when she lost control of the car on ice and over corrected, causing the car to hit the east guardrail of a bridge. Brady M.R. Hudson, 14, of the same address as driver, was a passenger in the vehicle.

Milepost 289 on U.S. 56 near Falcon Road

Thomas Melland, 38, Kansas City, Mo., was driving a 2007 Pontiac passenger car at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 23 on U.S. 56, when he slowed the vehicle because of icy roads. A 2007 Pontiac passenger vehicle, driven by Katie Unruh, 26, Canton, which was behind Melland, struck the rear of the first vehicle causing, both to go in a north ditch.

Milepost 100 on U.S. 77 near Wagon Wheel Road

Jordan Paul Vulgamore, 23, Manhattan, was traveling south on U.S. 77 in a 2006 Ford pickup at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 23, when he lost control of the vehicle on ice and entered a west ditch, rolling over. Vulgamore was transported by Marion ambulance to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, with possible injuries.

Milepost 2 on K-256 near U.S. 56

Jerrie Ann Kruse, 73, 1980 K-256, Marion, was northbound on K-256 at 7 p.m. Dec. 23 in a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, when she lost control of the vehicle on an ice-covered bridge. The Trailblazer hit a guardrail and went in an east ditch.

U.S. 77 near Grandview Street, Florence

Cleso Martinez, 38, Forest Hill, Texas, was traveling south on U.S. 77 in a 1998 International truck at 7:40 p.m. Dec. 23, when he lost control of the vehicle on an ice-covered bridge, striking the east guardrail. The truck was registered to J.B. Hunt, Inc., Lowell, Ark.

U.S. 56 near 350th Road

Bryan D. Smith, 29, Norton, was northbound on U.S. 56 near 350th Road at 11:52 p.m. Dec. 31 in a 1994 Dodge van, when the vehicle’s tire dropped off the road, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to overturn. The driver and a passenger, Tresea J. Middleton, 29, Salina, were transported to Herington Municipal Hospital.
