The latest group of youngsters winning the Christmas-time drawings sponsored by the Marion Chamber of Commerce include Glenn Bartel, who won the bicycle; Karen Young, roller skates; Terry Taylor, basketball and goal; Sue Ewert, doll set; and Tom Kanady, Secret Sam detective set.

Harold J. Wiens was elected president of the Marion Community Athletic Association Saturday evening. Gerry Harris was elected vice president; Boyce Baumgardner, secretary; and Dwight Adams, treasurer.

First prize in the Chamber of Commerce Christmas lighting contest went to Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Crainer Jr., 636 E. Main, $15. Second prize went to Mr. and Mrs. J. Ira Newcomer, 321 N. Cedar, $10; and third prize to Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Zerger, 1120 Highland.

Marion’s city ball team, dubbed the “Mashers,” has scheduled a game that will draw a lot of attention. They will play a team of alumni of Marion High School. So far on the roster of the alumni are Keith Just, Lowell Ensey, Larry Ensey, Max Jackson, John Christensen, Jon Schimpf, Gene Schimpf, John Russell, and Ron Oelschlager.

The annual New Year’s Day coyote hunt, sponsored by the Happy Hustlers 4-H Club will begin at 10 a.m. Jan. 1 at the Youngtown corner. The noon meal will be served at the Walt Hayen farm.
