Final details of a major Marion business transaction have been completed this week. Gound Motor Company, Ford and Mercury dealership in Marion owned by S.W. Gound has been sold to J.B. Noll of Florence and Gerry Harris of Wichita.

The three top winners in the annual Marion County Spelling Bee held Thursday in Marion were: Sharon Loewen of Hillsboro, first; Nancy Smith of Lincolnville, second; and Bryce Ollenberger of Marion, third.

Construction was started this week on an addition to the Marion County Record building in Marion. The new 60’ x 30’ building is being built west of the present building and will be joined to it.

Tabor College faculty and student body enjoyed a day of celebration April 1 in recognition of the receipt of full accreditation of the college by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

“Jack and the Beanstalk” is this year’s elementary school operetta. Sixth graders playing leading roles are George Coe, Denise Wiens, Mike Bredemeier, Janet Lawrence, Roanne Keller, Shelley Batt, Brad Case, Doug Kelsey, and Dennis Kraus.
