Dr. Lee Fent of Newton, a devoted shade tree authority, will present a talk with colored slides, at the vocation agriculture room at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. He will speak on the care and selection of a beautiful shade tree.

Paula Fisher and Bill Arnold will compete in the county spelling bee after winning the local contest. Bill tripped up on “receipt” and Paula spelled it correctly. Both will compete in the county spelling bee.

Dr. Edward Cressler, 54, of Newton suffered a fatal heart attack last Friday while driving in Omaha where he had gone for a special dentistry class at Creighton University. He was born in Peabody, son of Dr. and Mrs. Edward P. Cressler, Sr.
