Capt. Richard Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Davis of Peabody, was awarded the Air Medal recently when his plane developed mechanical trouble in flight and despite the hazardous conditions involved, Capt. Davis, at great personal risk, assisted in manually maneuvering the aircraft to a safe landing without further damage to the plane.

Dennis Fisher will represent the local high school at the fourth annual Talent Day activities at Wichita State University on Feb. 19. Fisher plays the trumpet.

History Club met Feb 1 for a 1 p.m. luncheon at the home Bernice Jessen. Representative Lawrence Slocombe was the guest speaker.
