At this Christmas season, whether a person is a believer or not, it’s possible to enjoy the artistry in Central Park. Ted Cash is the artist who painted the holy infant scene in the center of an illuminated star that stands a dozen feet tall in front of the reflecting pool of the antique fountain.
K.C. Widler, farmer in the Burns community who serves willingly on boards and committees, is the subject of this week’s Personality Profile by feature writer Ruth Meyer.
Cindy Harris was crowned Snowball Queen of Brown Mackie College at a winter formal recently at Salina Country Club. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Harris of Marion, she is enrolled in a court reporting course.
Jeff Brewer, vocal music instructor at Marion High School, reports that 11 MHS students have been selected for an all-state choir. They are Eva Sassenscheidt, Linda Schaffer, Julie Hett, Janelle Bowers, Lori Hett, Chuck Gough, Greg Boyle, Paul Loney, Bill Hoch, Jay Smith, and Brian Bowers.
A concert of Christmas music will be presented at 8 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bill Nelson and Helen Jackson will present a wide variety of Christmas selections.
