3 named to all-state teams

Three graduating seniors from Marion County were honored last week by being named to all-state teams by the Kansas Softball Coaches Association.

Marion infielder Jayden May was named to the Class 2-1A first team, and Marion outfielder Mickelly Soyez was named to the second team.

Hillsboro outfielder Reese Hefley was an honorable mention for the Class 3A team.

Jayden, salutatorian of her graduating class, plans to study radiology at Fort Hays State University.

Mickelly, co-valedictorian, will prepare for a career in physical therapy at Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri.

Reese plans to play softball for Tabor College next season.
