Marion Unified School District Board of Education heard Monday the City of Marion’s first offer to rent out two ball diamonds for the high school baseball and softball programs.

The city wants $5,000 per year for five years, if all paid in advance, or $6,000 per year if paid per year. They want a guaranteed five-year contract. Board members were upset by what they consider excessive charges.

Tampa farmer/rancher David Mueller, 35, filed Friday as a Republican candidate for the 70th District House of Representatives.

Tabor College has announced the kickoff of the public phase of the campaign for the new two-story 19,586 square foot natural science center building on the campus at Hillsboro. Included will be a greenhouse, 70-seat lecture hall, animal observation area, and a 1,850 foot two-story atrium.
