Milo harvest is under way with thousands of bushels flowing into area grain elevators where test weights are between 50-60 pounds per bushel, with similar weights for soybeans. Yields generally start around 70 bushels per acre for milo and 30-35 bushels for soybeans.

The fall championship motocross races will be held Oct. 29 at Green Acres MX Park in Marion.

Senior Travis Ratzlaff, son of Curtis Ratzlaff of Marion and Connie Ratzlaff of Enid, Oklahoma, was voted “Student of the Month” by Marion High School faculty. Travis completed basic training with the Army National Guard during the summer and future plans include continuing with the military and possibly attending college.

A car caravan of the Santa Fe Trail in Marion County is planned for 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The tour is sponsored by the Cottonwood Crossing Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association.

Centre High School wrapped up a district championship Friday with a 50-24 win over Solomon and advance to bi-district play Oct. 31.

Downtown Durham’s restaurant reopened this week under new management of the Wendell Wedels. It is known as Main Street Café.
