Kathy Woelk is the lucky winner of a week’s vacation for two to Florida, grand prize of the Marion County Record’s Dreamer’s Holiday campaign. She and her husband, Bob, live in Hillsboro. She is an employee of the Hillsboro Post Office.

Brazilian exchange student Felipe Boventi has found Marion quite a change from his home near Sao Paolo. The temperature gets cool, but never enough for snow. He enjoys Marion and his host family, Brad and Jeannie Wildin.

Parents, students, and teachers were on hand Friday morning at Centre Elementary School to hear fourth graders recite “Twas the Night Before Christmas” as kindergartners held their illustrations of the poem. Fourth graders presented the play “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.”

Rebecca Richmond and Simon Makovec were two of the winners in the Marion County Implement Co. Christmas essay contest for children. They are pictured with the prizes awarded by the local John Deere agency. Kristi Koehn was third place winner.
