With its history as a Civilian Conservation Corps project, Marion County Park and Lake has been nominated for inclusion in the Eight Wonders of Kansas History. County economic development director Teresa Hoffman nominated it for inclusion in an online poll to be conducted by Kansas Sampler Foundation.

Marion High School’s scholars bowl team of Sam Ehrlich, Patrick Hodson, E.J. Obermeyer, Monica Spachek, Derek Stuchlik, and Eric Vogel will participate April 15 on KPTS-TV in a match against Washburn Rural High School. MHS earned its spot by placing in the top 16 teams Dec. 5 in Topeka.

The family of Milton and Donna Kaiser of Durham are requesting a card shower for the couple in recognition of their 60th wedding anniversary April 9.

Marion Elementary School second grader Chloe Burkholder and third grader Joey Nickel won the Marion Kiwanis Club Exemplary Character award for February.
