They have been having some fearful storms back east — snow, rain and wind, alternately — but in Kansas we have had nearly two months of balmy weather, with a little crisp weather now and then and a gentle shower occasionally. Sunny Kansas.

Those persons who put up their ice the first freeze were lucky.

We have seen the plat book, made by Major T.W. Bown for E.R. Trenner, containing complete original and revised plats of all the towns in the county, with all the additions. It is a handsome piece of work.

The Bank of Marion Centre has moved into elegantly fitted rooms prepared expressly for it in Lockwood’s new block. Very handsome quarters, indeed.

We understand that Chicago Lumber Co. has leased the corner north of Cottonwood Valley Bank for several years and will open a lumberyard there about the first of next month. This will make three lumberyards in town.

We notice a fine lot of flagstone accumulating in front of Mother Moulton’s premises. That means a nice, substantial sidewalk there.
