They are building a calaboose at Peabody. We shall have to walk straight when we go over there hereafter.
Mr. S.H. Grimes is preparing to erect a stone residence on the hill.
Battey’s Cornet Band will give the second annual Masquerade at the hall over the Cottonwood Valley Bank on Friday evening, Feb. 21. All from Marion Centre and vicinity who wish to trip the light fantastic toe are invited to attend with their ladies. Tickets for dance, $1; spectators, 25 cents.
Funk Brothers do make good flour. The best flour we have had we are using now from their mills.
W.H. Yates has gone toward the setting sun, and we hope it will not blind his eyes so that he can’t make a good selection, because we believe all the female population of Risley are widely known for their beauty and virtues, and we don’t want so nice a young man as W. to bring any one here that will prove an exception to the rule.
Lest lovers should forget, we remark that this is Valentine day.
