The Peabody City Park, where our Chautauquas are held, is one of the finest in Kansas and was formerly famous as the home of a county fair.
Word came to Peabody Sunday that W.E. Bozarth was dangerously ill at Cheyenne, Wyo., where he had gone but a few days previously for a visit with his daughter. He will have a fight for his life with an operation for appendicitis.
Miss Elida Hansen leaves the first of the week for Chicago to join her sisters who are spending the summer on the lake front.
