With no Democrats challenging them, incumbents Dan Holub and Randy Dallke won re-election as county commissioners in the Republican primary Tuesday. Holub, with 39.9% of the vote, defeated Mike Beneke with 36.5% and Brett Hajek with 23.6%. Dallke, with 55.2%, defeated Amy Soyez, 30.5%, and Stephen Rose, 14.3%.

Asked at the county fair what one wish they would like a genie to grant, 8-year-old Eli Klenda of Pilsen said “to have every single Lego in the world,” 14-year-old Katelyn Olson of Goessel said “to have the world of Harry Potter be real,” and 15-year-old Kayla Page of Peabody said “put cancer and abuse to an end.”
