David and Laura Yates are the owners of Superior Wine and Liquor and The Hair Company at Marion Business Park. Their plans include opening a convenience store between the other two businesses that will feature two tanning beds.

Passers-by have noticed a flurry of activity at the former Mini-Mall at 901 E. Main, Marion. Theresa Carroll is fixing up the 30-year-old building to reopen as an antique and gift store. The store will sell antiques, collectibles, Kansas Crafts, and various works of art.

Marion golfer Jack Webb has witnessed several holes-in-one at Marion Country Club, but has never scored an ace of his own. That changed Friday when his seven-iron tee shot on the ninth hole sailed over the creek, landed on the green and trickled into the cup for his first-ever ace.
